Red Bud Police Department
The Red Bud police department is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.
All applicants must:
- Have a minimum of one year of full-time law enforcement experience.
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Have a current/valid driver’s license.
- No felony convictions.
- Live twenty miles or less of the police department, in the state of Illinois and within six months of hire.
- Pass an interview, background check, physical, drug screening and psychological evaluation.
The city’s officers take home squad cars if living within city limits and have uniforms provided. Starting pay is $29.61.

Red Bud City Pool
The City of Red Bud is now accepting applications for Red Bud City Swimming Pool lifeguards.
The pool operates during the summer, following the Red Bud CUSD #132 school calendar. The 2026 pool season is scheduled for May 24-August 10 and hours will vary based on scheduling and staffing.
This is ideal seasonal employment for students, teachers and anyone with a flexible schedule. Qualified individuals must be at least sixteen years old and have or be willing to complete all trainings and certifications required for the position. Starting pay will be $17 per hour.
