POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Red Bud police department is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.

All applicants must:

  • Have a minimum of one year of full-time law enforcement experience.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Have a current/valid driver’s license.
  • No felony convictions.
  • Live twenty miles or less from the police department, in the state of Illinois and within six months of hire.
  • Pass an interview, background check, physical, drug screening and psychological evaluation.

The city’s officers take home squad cars if living within city limits and have uniforms provided.  The pay is $30.41/hr.

UTILITY DEPARTMENT

The City of Red Bud has an opening for a full-time employee as a Laborer in the Utility Department. Duties may include but are not limited to chipping brush, operating street sweeper, assisting in the electric, gas, sewer, water and street departments, reading meters, and power plant operation and maintenance. Job skills may include operating tractors, backhoes, trenchers, welding, concrete finishing, routine carpentry, and plumbing functions.

The City offers a very competitive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, and pension. The starting salary for this position will be $23.15 per hour.

A Valid driver’s license, physical, drug screen, and background check are required.
