UTILITY DEPARTMENT
The City of Red Bud has an opening for a full-time employee as a Laborer in the Utility Department. Duties may include but are not limited to chipping brush, operating street sweeper, assisting in the electric, gas, sewer, water and street departments, reading meters, and power plant operation and maintenance. Job skills may include operating tractors, backhoes, trenchers, welding, concrete finishing, routine carpentry, and plumbing functions.
The City offers a very competitive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, and pension. The starting salary for this position will be $23.15 per hour.
A Valid driver’s license, physical, drug screen, and background check are required.

UTILITY DEPARTMENT
The City of Red Bud has an opening for a full-time employee as an Electric Apprentice or Journeyman Lineman in the Utility Department. This position requires experience in underground and overhead distribution/service installations and maintenance work.
Duties for an apprentice position may include but are not limited to the following:
- Assisting the journeyman lineman or foreman while learning the trade
- Operating trenching machines and bucket trucks
- Connecting, disconnecting, installing, and removing electrical devices
Duties for a journeyman position may include but are not limited to the following:
- Installing and maintaining power lines, transformers, and electrical equipment
- Troubleshooting and repairing damaged lines and equipment
- Assist in the training of any apprentice lineman
The City offers a very competitive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, and pension. The salary for this position will be in the range of $29.85 to $40.87 per hour based on level of training, experience, and qualifications.
Requirements include: a valid Class B CDL driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one, physical, drug screen, and background check.

UTILITY DEPARTMENT
The City of Red Bud will be accepting applications for a part-time meter reader in the Public Works Department. The rate of pay is currently $18.10 per hour. There shall be a maximum of 999 hours per year per employee. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and physical.
