At the City of Red Bud, we strive to make paying your utility bill simple, convenient, and accessible for every resident. Whether you prefer to pay online, stop by in person, or set up an automatic payment, we offer several options designed to fit your schedule and make the process as easy as possible.

​1. City of Red Bud Utility Portal

​For payments made directly through a checking or savings account, there is a $1 fee. For credit or debit card payments, there is a 2.9% fee plus 30 cents. The City does not receive any revenue from the fee. 

2. E-Pay through the office of the Illinois State Treasurer

For payments made directly through a checking or savings account, there is a 50 cent fee. For credit or debit card payments, there is a 2.25% fee. The City does not receive any revenue from the fee.

3. In Person/Over the Phone

Payments may be made at City Hall Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. City Hall is located at 200 East Market Street. City Hall may be reached at (618) 282-2315. We accept cash, check, debit card or credit card payments. 

*A 2.25% transaction fee is added to debit and credit card payment amounts. The City does not receive any revenue from the transaction fee. 

​4. Utility Drop Box

Place a check and your utility stub in the drop box located at the south end of the City Hall parking lot.

5. Auto Debit

Payment may be made by direct debit (ACH) from your checking or savings account. Your utility bill will be paid automatically on the 22nd of every month. You will continue to receive a utility bill so you will always know how much your account will be debited. There is no additional fee to use this service.

7. Banking Options

Payments may be made in person with cash or check at any Red Bud bank. Those payments are then forwarded to the City of Red Bud on a daily basis.

Payment may be made through online banking. 
Note: Please allow extra time for the City to receive these payments. The bank sends the payments through the United States Postal Service in batches so they will not be received the day the payment is made.

Budget Billing 
Budget billing sign up happens twice a year, in April and September. It is available for all qualifying customers. To qualify, a customer must have at least one year of utility services through the City of Red Bud. Budget billing amounts are based on the past utility services received from April 1st thru March 30th or September 2nd thru August 31st. ​
